Chapter 16 · Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga

Freedom Opens the Way · Stepping Toward Your Own Good

एतैर्विमुक्तः कौन्तेय तमोद्वारैस्त्रिभिर्नरः । आचरत्यात्मनः श्रेयस्ततो याति परां गतिम् ॥

etair vimuktaḥ kaunteya tamo-dvārais tribhir naraḥ ācaraty ātmanaḥ śreyas tato yāti parāṁ gatim

Meaning

"Freed from these three gates to darkness, O Kaunteya, a person acts for their own true welfare and thereby attains the supreme goal."

Explanation

There's genuine hope here — freedom from these destructive patterns isn't just possible, it directly opens the way to your own true wellbeing. Stepping away from what harms you is itself a step toward something much better.

Today's Life Lesson

Each time you step away from lust, anger, or greed today, know that you're directly walking toward your own true good.
