Chapter 12 · Bhakti Yoga

The Formless Path · Another Way to Seek

ये त्वक्षरमनिर्देश्यमव्यक्तं पर्युपासते । सर्वत्रगमचिन्त्यञ्च कूटस्थमचलन्ध्रुवम् ॥

ye tv akṣaram anirdeśyam avyaktaṁ paryupāsate sarvatra-gam acintyañ ca kūṭa-stham acalaṁ dhruvam

Meaning

"But those who worship the imperishable, the indefinable, the unmanifest, the all-pervading, the unthinkable, the unchanging, the immovable, the eternal—"

Explanation

Some people relate to the divine as a felt presence and warmth; others relate to it as vast, formless mystery. Krishna doesn't dismiss either — he simply names that this second path exists too.

Today's Life Lesson

If the idea of a formless, vast truth resonates with you more than a personal image of God, that path is honored too.
