Chapter 13 · Kshetra Kshetrajna Vibhaga Yoga

The Field and Its Knower · Where Clarity Begins

क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत । क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम ॥

kṣetra-jñaṁ cāpi māṁ viddhi sarva-kṣetreṣu bhārata kṣetra-kṣetrajñayor jñānaṁ yat taj jñānaṁ mataṁ mama

Meaning

"O Bharata, know Me also as the knower of the field in all fields. The knowledge of the field and its knower — this I consider to be true knowledge."

Explanation

Krishna introduces a simple but powerful distinction: there's the field (body, circumstances, the changing scenery of your life) and the knower who is aware of it. Learning to tell the two apart is where clarity begins.

Today's Life Lesson

Today, try noticing the difference between what's happening around you and the quiet awareness that's simply watching it happen.
