Chapter 12 · Bhakti Yoga

Steady Contentment · A Firm Inner Ground

सन्तुष्टः सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चयः । मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥

santuṣṭaḥ satataṁ yogī yatātmā dṛḍha-niścayaḥ mayy arpita-mano-buddhir yo mad-bhaktaḥ sa me priyaḥ

Meaning

"The yogi who is ever content, self-controlled, of firm resolve, with mind and intellect surrendered to Me—that devotee of Mine is dear to Me."

Explanation

Contentment here isn't complacency — it's a steady inner ground that lets someone stay resolved without being rattled by circumstance.

Today's Life Lesson

Practice being content with today as it is, while still holding your resolve steady — the two aren't opposites.
