Illustration for Bhagavad Gita chapter 10 verse 2
Chapter 10 · Vibhuti Yoga

Beyond Full Comprehension · The Uncharted Source

न मे विदुः सुरगणाः प्रभवं न महर्षयः । अहमादिर्हि देवानां महर्षीणां च सर्वशः ॥

na me viduḥ sura-gaṇāḥ prabhavaṁ na maharṣayaḥ aham ādir hi devānāṁ maharṣīṇāṁ ca sarvaśaḥ

Meaning

"Neither the hosts of gods nor the great sages know My origin, for I am the source of the gods and the great sages in every way."

Explanation

Even the beings we usually look to as ultimate authorities — gods and great sages — are described here as unable to trace the origin of the divine, because they themselves arose from it. Some things are simply too vast to be fully mapped, even by the wisest.

Today's Life Lesson

It's okay if some big questions today don't have neat answers — some things are meant to be approached with wonder, not full comprehension.
