Illustration for Bhagavad Gita chapter 1 verse 25
Chapter 1 · Arjuna Vishada Yoga

Facing It Head-On · Krishna Positions the Chariot

भीष्मद्रोणप्रमुखतः सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम् । उवाच पार्थ पश्यैतान्समवेतान्कुरूनिति ॥

bhīṣma-droṇa-pramukhataḥ sarveṣāṁ ca mahī-kṣitām uvāca pārtha paśyaitān samavetān kurūn iti

Meaning

"In the presence of Bhishma, Drona, and all the assembled rulers, Krishna said, "Arjuna, behold these Kurus gathered here.""

Explanation

Krishna doesn't soften the moment or steer Arjuna's gaze away — he drives him straight to the middle of the field and tells him to look. Sometimes the kindest thing isn't avoidance; it's helping someone see clearly what they're actually facing.

Today's Life Lesson

If you've been avoiding a clear look at a hard situation, let yourself see it fully today — clarity has to come before courage.
