Chapter 7 · Jnana Vijnana Yoga

Beyond Appearances · The Deeper Nature of the Divine

अव्यक्तं व्यक्तिमापन्नं मन्यन्ते मामबुद्धयः । परं भावमजानन्तो ममाव्ययमनुत्तमम् ॥

avyaktaṁ vyaktim āpannaṁ manyante mām abuddhayaḥ, paraṁ bhāvam ajānanto mamāvyayam anuttamam.

Meaning

"The unintelligent think of Me, the unmanifest, as having taken a mere manifest form, not knowing My higher, imperishable, and supreme nature."

Explanation

There's always more to the divine—or to any deep truth—than what appears on the surface to the casual eye.

Today's Life Lesson
