Chapter 6 · Dhyana Yoga

Inner Contentment · Beyond Gold and Stone

ज्ञानविज्ञानतृप्तात्मा कूटस्थो विजितेन्द्रियः । युक्त इत्युच्यते योगी समलोष्टाश्मकाञ्चनः ॥

jñānavijñānatṛptātmā kūṭastho vijitendriyaḥ, yukta ity ucyate yogī samaloṣṭāśmakāñcanaḥ.

Meaning

"The one whose mind is satisfied by knowledge and realization, who is unshaken and has mastered the senses, who sees a lump of earth, a stone, and gold as the same—that person is called a true yogi."

Explanation

When your contentment comes from within, external things—wealth included—stop having power to define your worth.

Today's Life Lesson

Notice today how much of your mood depends on possessions or comparisons—then quietly loosen that grip.
