Chapter 6 · Dhyana Yoga

Mind Mastery · Your Mind, Your Ally

बन्धुरात्मात्मनस्तस्य येनात्मैवात्मना जितः

bandhur ātmātmanas tasya yenātmaivātmanā jitaḥ

Meaning

"For one who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, the mind works like an enemy."

Explanation

The mind can be your greatest ally or your harshest critic — the difference lies entirely in how well you've trained it.

Today's Life Lesson

The next time your mind spirals into worry, gently steer it back — you're training a friend, not fighting an enemy.
