Honest Doubt · Fear of Falling Short

अर्जुन उवाच । अयतिः श्रद्धयोपेतो योगाच्चलितमानसः । अप्राप्य योगसंसिद्धिं कां गतिं कृष्ण गच्छति ॥

arjuna uvāca. ayatiḥ śraddhayopeto yogāc calitamānasaḥ, aprāpya yogasaṁsiddhiṁ kāṁ gatiṁ kṛṣṇa gacchati.

Meaning

"Arjuna said: O Krishna, what happens to the one full of faith but lacking effort, whose mind wanders away from Yoga without attaining perfection in it?"

Explanation

Arjuna voices a fear many carry: what if sincere effort still falls short of the goal?
