Chapter 6 · Dhyana Yoga

Devotion in Meditation · A Single Anchor

प्रशान्तात्मा विगतभीर्ब्रह्मचारिव्रते स्थितः । मनः संयम्य मच्चित्तो युक्त आसीत मत्परः ॥

praśāntātmā vigatabhīr brahmacārivrate sthitaḥ, manaḥ saṁyamya maccitto yukta āsīta matparaḥ.

Meaning

"Serene in mind, free from fear, firm in the vow of a celibate student, controlling the mind and fixing it on Me, one should sit as a devoted yogi, absorbed in Me."

Explanation

Peace deepens when the mind has a single, worthy anchor to rest on, instead of drifting between countless small worries.

Today's Life Lesson

Give your restless mind one steady point to return to today, whether that's a breath, a name, or a quiet intention.
