Illustration for Bhagavad Gita chapter 6 verse 13
Chapter 6 · Dhyana Yoga

Meditation · Steadying the Body

समं कायशिरोग्रीवं धारयन्नचलं स्थिरः । सम्प्रेक्ष्य नासिकाग्रं स्वं दिशश्चानवलोकयन् ॥

samaṁ kāyaśirogrīvaṁ dhārayann acalaṁ sthiraḥ, samprekṣya nāsikāgraṁ svaṁ diśaś cānavalokayan.

Meaning

"Holding the body, head, and neck erect and still, steady, gazing at the tip of one's own nose, without looking around in other directions."

Explanation

Physical stillness isn't just posture—it's a quiet signal to the whole nervous system that this is a moment for focus.

Today's Life Lesson

Before your next stressful moment today, pause and let your posture settle first—the mind often follows the body.
