Chapter 4 · Jnana Karma Sanyasa Yoga

One Continuous Offering · Nothing Separate from the Sacred

ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्म हविर्ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् । ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना ॥

brahmārpaṇaṁ brahma havir brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahma-karma-samādhinā

Meaning

"The offering is Brahman, the oblation is Brahman, offered by Brahman into the fire of Brahman; one who sees all action as Brahman attains Brahman alone."

Explanation

Krishna repeats the same word for everything involved in an act of offering — the giver, the gift, the fire, the goal. When ordinary action is seen this way, nothing is really separate from the sacred; it's all one continuous act.

Today's Life Lesson

Try treating today's ordinary tasks as part of one continuous offering rather than separate chores — it changes how they feel.
