विषया विनिवर्तन्ते निराहारस्य देहिनः । रसवर्जं रसोऽप्यस्य परं दृष्ट्वा निवर्तते ।।59।।

viṣayā vinivartante nirāhārasya dehinaḥ rasa-varjaṃ raso 'py asya paraṃ dṛṣṭvā nivartate

Meaning

"For one who abstains, sense objects withdraw, but the taste for them remains. Even this taste vanishes upon realizing the Supreme."

Explanation

Krishna acknowledges that mere restraint isn't enough — lasting freedom comes only from deeper realization.

Notice that simply avoiding a temptation isn't the same as being free of its pull — aim for that deeper freedom.
