Chapter 14 · Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga

The Itch to Chase More · Choosing Rest Instead

रजो रागात्मकं विद्धि तृष्णासङ्गसमुद्भवम् । तन्निबध्नाति कौन्तेय कर्मसङ्गेन देहिनम् ॥

rajo rāgātmakaṁ viddhi tṛṣṇā-saṅga-samudbhavam tan nibadhnāti kaunteya karma-saṅgena dehinam

Meaning

"Know rajas to be of the nature of passion, arising from craving and attachment. It binds the soul, O Kaunteya, through attachment to action."

Explanation

Restlessness often shows up as an itch to keep doing, achieving, and chasing more, even when we're already tired. Noticing that itch for what it is can help you choose rest instead of another round of chasing.

Today's Life Lesson

When you feel the restless urge to chase more today, pause and ask if rest, not more doing, is what you actually need.
