Chapter 8 · Akshara Brahma Yoga

Beyond Every Heaven · The Only Lasting Destination

आब्रह्मभुवनाल्लोकाः पुनरावर्तिनोऽर्जुन । मामुपेत्य तु कौन्तेय पुनर्जन्म न विद्यते ॥

ā-brahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ punar āvartino 'rjuna mām upetya tu kaunteya punar janma na vidyate

Meaning

"All worlds up to the abode of Brahma are subject to return, O Arjuna, but having reached Me, O son of Kunti, there is no rebirth."

Explanation

Even the highest heavens described here are still temporary stops, places you eventually leave. Only reaching the source itself is described as truly final — a reminder not to mistake a high reward for the ultimate goal.

Today's Life Lesson

Don't mistake today's big win or reward for the final goal — keep aiming at what actually lasts.
