Doing Without Doing · The Paradox of Freedom

त्यक्त्वा कर्मफलासङ्गं नित्यतृप्तो निराश्रयः । कर्मण्यभिप्रवृत्तोऽपि नैव किञ्चित्करोति सः ।।20।।

tyaktvā karma-phalāsaṅgaṃ nitya-tṛpto nirāśrayaḥ karmaṇy abhipravṛtto 'pi naiva kiñcit karoti saḥ

Meaning

"Having abandoned attachment to the fruits of action, ever content and independent, such a person, though fully engaged in action, does nothing at all in the deeper sense."

Explanation

Krishna describes the paradox of the liberated doer — deeply active outwardly, yet inwardly free and untouched.
