Chapter 18 · Moksha Sanyasa Yoga

The Gita Cares About Joy · Not Just Duty

सुखं त्विदानीं त्रिविधं शृणु मे भरतर्षभ । अभ्यासाद्रमते यत्र दुःखान्तं च निगच्छति ॥

sukhaṁ tv idānīṁ tri-vidhaṁ śṛṇu me bharatarṣabha abhyāsād ramate yatra duḥkhāntaṁ ca nigacchati

Meaning

"Now hear from Me, O best of the Bharatas, of the threefold happiness in which one finds delight through practice and reaches the end of suffering."

Explanation

Krishna turns now to happiness itself — a good sign that the Gita isn't just about duty and discipline, but genuinely cares about what actually brings lasting joy.

Today's Life Lesson

It's okay to actively seek lasting happiness today, not just discipline — the Gita itself takes real joy seriously.
