Chapter 18 · Moksha Sanyasa Yoga

Tossed by Outcomes · A Sign, Not a Sentence

रागी कर्मफलप्रेप्सुर्लुब्धो हिंसात्मकोऽशुचिः । हर्षशोकान्वितः कर्ता राजसः परिकीर्तितः ॥

rāgī karma-phala-prepsur lubdho hiṁsātmako 'śuciḥ harṣa-śokānvitaḥ kartā rājasaḥ parikīrtitaḥ

Meaning

"A doer who is passionate, craving the fruit of action, greedy, harmful in nature, impure, and swayed by joy and sorrow, is declared rajasic."

Explanation

Being tossed constantly between elation and despair, depending on outcomes, is exhausting — and it's a sign worth noticing, not a permanent personality trait.

Today's Life Lesson

If your mood today is swinging hard with every small win or loss, notice it gently as a pattern you can loosen, not a fixed trait.
