Chapter 13 · Kshetra Kshetrajna Vibhaga Yoga

Seeing the Difference · You Are Not What Happens to You

क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोरेवमन्तरं ज्ञानचक्षुषा । भूतप्रकृतिमोक्षं च ये विदुर्यान्ति ते परम् ॥

kṣetra-kṣetrajñayor evam antaraṁ jñāna-cakṣuṣā bhūta-prakṛti-mokṣaṁ ca ye vidur yānti te param

Meaning

"Those who perceive with the eye of knowledge the distinction between the field and the knower of the field, and the liberation of beings from material nature, attain the Supreme."

Explanation

This closing verse of the chapter suggests that real freedom comes from clearly seeing the difference between who you are and what merely happens around and to you. That clarity, once gained, is quietly liberating.

Today's Life Lesson

Today, try to see the difference between what's happening to you and who you truly are — that clarity can be quietly freeing.
