Chapter 12 · Bhakti Yoga

Honest Difficulty · Choosing What Fits You

क्लेशोऽधिकतरस्तेषामव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम् । अव्यक्ता हि गतिर्दुःखं देहवद्भिरवाप्यते ॥

kleśo 'dhikataras teṣām avyaktāsakta-cetasām avyaktā hi gatir duḥkhaṁ dehavadbhir avāpyate

Meaning

"For those whose minds are attached to the unmanifest, the path is one of greater difficulty, for the goal of the unmanifest is hard to reach for embodied beings."

Explanation

Krishna is refreshingly honest here: the abstract, formless path is genuinely harder for most embodied people. There's no shame in choosing the path that actually fits how you're built.

Today's Life Lesson

Don't force yourself onto a spiritual path that feels unnatural — it's wiser to choose practices that actually suit who you are.
