Chapter 11 · Vishvarupa Darshana Yoga

Wonder and Fear Together · It's Okay to Ask for Gentleness

अदृष्टपूर्वं हृषितोऽस्मि दृष्ट्वा भयेन च प्रव्यथितं मनो मे । तदेव मे दर्शय देवरूपं प्रसीद देवेश जगन्निवास ॥

adṛṣṭa-pūrvaṁ hṛṣito 'smi dṛṣṭvā bhayena ca pravyathitaṁ mano me tad eva me darśaya deva rūpaṁ prasīda deveśa jagan-nivāsa

Meaning

"Having seen what I had never seen before, I feel joy, yet my mind trembles with fear. Please show me again Your gentle form, O Lord of lords, abode of the universe."

Explanation

It's completely honest to feel both wonder and fear at the same time when facing something truly vast. Asking for a gentler, more familiar form isn't weakness — it's simply knowing your own limits.

Today's Life Lesson

If something overwhelming today brings both awe and fear, it's fine to ask for a gentler pace — that's wisdom, not weakness.
