Illustration for Bhagavad Gita chapter 10 verse 33
Chapter 10 · Vibhuti Yoga

Present in the Smallest Things · Even a Single Letter

अक्षराणामकारोऽस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य च । अहमेवाक्षयः कालो धाताहं विश्वतोमुखः ॥

akṣarāṇām a-kāro 'smi dvandvaḥ sāmāsikasya ca aham evākṣayaḥ kālo dhātāhaṁ viśvato-mukhaḥ

Meaning

"Among letters I am the letter A, and among compound words I am the dual; I am also inexhaustible time, and the creator facing every direction."

Explanation

Krishna keeps finding himself even in the smallest building blocks of language and time — the first letter of the alphabet, the passage of every moment. Nothing is too small or too ordinary to hold a trace of the divine.

Today's Life Lesson

Look for the sacred in something small and ordinary today — even the tiniest detail can carry meaning.
