Chapter 10 · Vibhuti Yoga

Divine Glory · Present in Nature and Art

अश्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदः । गन्धर्वाणां चित्ररथः सिद्धानां कपिलो मुनिः ॥

aśvatthaḥ sarvavṛkṣāṇāṁ devarṣīṇāṁ ca nāradaḥ, gandharvāṇāṁ citrarathaḥ siddhānāṁ kapilo muniḥ.

Meaning

"Among trees, I am the sacred fig tree; among divine sages, I am Narada; among celestial musicians, I am Chitraratha; among the perfected beings, I am the sage Kapila."

Explanation

Even nature and art carry echoes of the divine—it isn't confined only to what feels overtly spiritual.

Today's Life Lesson

Look for something sacred today in nature or art, not just in formal prayer.
